Left to right: Loran Kelley Jr. and Loran Kelley Sr.Dayton, NV (July 18, 2021) – Polymer80®, Inc., a Dayton, Nevada-based company and premier manufacturer of 80% products and complete serialized pistols, has obtained a Preliminary Injunction barring Governor Stephen Sisolak and other State of Nevada Officials from enforcing key portions of Nevada Assembly Bill 286 (“AB 286”).
In June, following the enactment of AB 286, Polymer80 took emergency action to stop the enforcement of the new law by challenging its constitutionality. To this end, Polymer80 initially filed a Verified Complaint coupled with an emergency application for an Order to Show Cause and related motion for a Temporary Restraining Order and Preliminary Injunction to bar enforcement of this new and seriously defective enactment. Polymer80 was forced to take this extraordinary action because, among many other reasons, AB 286, a hastily and poorly written and passed bill, purports to curtail and criminalize products that are legal to own under federal law. And, it does so through vague, unintelligible, and sweeping restrictions. At its core, AB 286 strips lawful citizens of Nevada of their basic, constitutionally protected rights and targets corporations, such as Polymer80, for lawful activities that greatly contribute to the Nevada economy and facilitate and safeguard the rights of Nevadans.
On July 16, 2021, Judge John P. Schlegelmilch entered a Preliminary Injunction barring the enforcement of Sections 3.5 and 6.9 of AB 286. In particular, Judge Schlegelmilch held that Polymer80 “has demonstrated a likelihood of success on the merits of its claims because AB 286 – a criminal statute that under Nevada law requires a heightened level of scrutiny — and particularly AB 286’s definition of ‘Unfinished Frame or Receiver’ is impermissibly vague.” Judge Schlegelmilch also held “that AB 286 fails to provide a person of ordinary intelligence fair notice of what AB 286 criminalizes and encourages discriminatory, criminal enforcement because the definition of ‘Unfinished Frame or Receiver’ in Section 6.9 of AB 286 is inherently vague.”

DAYTON, Nev. (Jan. 20, 2022) — It is with profound sadness that Polymer80 (P80) announces that Loran Kelley Sr., an instrumental partner and father of Polymer80, has passed away. Kelley was a true advocate and supporter of our individual rights to home gun building and he possessed an unwavering belief that freedom loving Americans should enjoy home gun building – a tradition older than the country itself. He dedicated himself to this passionate commitment by his efforts in advising on the development of P80.
The large network of home gun building is a testament to his work and would not be possible without his pioneering vision. “My father raised me to not compromise on what was right, and that this great nation of ours should always remain free. He was an ardent supporter of the ideals found in our 2nd Amendment and loved the freedom home gun building encouraged and enabled,” said Loran Kelley Jr.
“His immortal legacy will forever lie in that spirit this community imbues into every gun we build. Like so many stones in the tower that is his memory.\"

DAYTON, Nev. (April 4, 2022) — An NBC News article titled “Polymer80’s name has become synonymous with ‘ghost guns.’ Now it’s in the crosshairs.” is an attempt to distort facts, sensationalize crime statistics and turn an innovative company into a villain.
Anti-Second Amendment politicians, advocacy groups and members of the media use the label “ghost gun” to strike fear and trick the public. Those individuals and groups want the public to believe that privately made firearms are synonymous with crime, even though thousands, if not millions, of Americans have lawfully engaged in this right and freedom for centuries. The truth is, there is a long, storied tradition of firearms use and innovation in America, including the freedom to participate in the build and customization of firearms.
